Raising Money For

We are raising money for Macmillan because they’ve been there for my family when we needed it most. My grandma has been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer, and during such a difficult time, Macmillan has given us incredible support, comfort, and reassurance.

Taking part in the Macmillan Darts Marathon is also something really special for me and my brother. Playing darts together has always been a way for us to spend time together, have a laugh, and support one another — even if some of us are definitely worse than others. This challenge gives us a chance to turn those moments into something meaningful.

This fundraiser is our way of giving something back and saying thank you for everything Macmillan has already done for our grandma and our family. We hope that by raising money, we can help Macmillan continue supporting others who are facing the same difficult journey.

Just a quick but important update for everyone planning to come along and support us. The event will be held at Catshill Social Club (B61 0JJ), and we’re asking everyone to arrive between 5:30pm and 6:30pm so we can get organised and start on time. It would be amazing to see as many of you there — whether you’re playing, watching, or just coming down for the atmosphere and support.

We also want to take another moment to say a huge thank you for the incredible amount raised so far. The generosity has completely blown us away, and we honestly can’t put into words how much it means to us as a family. What started as a small target has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined.

Now it’s time for us to step up and give it everything we’ve got. This means even more to us now, and we’ll be doing it with one goal in mind — to make our beautiful grandma proud. Every dart we throw will be for her… although if you’ve seen me play before, you’ll know some of them might not even make it near the board! But we’ll give it our best shot (literally).

Thank you all again for standing with us — your support means everything

George

Status Update

We wanted to share another update and say thank you once again to everyone who has supported us. We are incredibly grateful to say we’re now nearly at £1,500 raised, which honestly means more to us than words can describe.

Sadly, since our last update, our beautiful grandma has sadly lost her battle with cancer and was taken from us far too soon. Although she won’t be here to see us play, our grandad has reminded us how important it is that we keep going and make her proud. This challenge now means even more to us, as we were constantly updating her on every donation we received, and she was so touched by the support shown.

We’ll be carrying her with us throughout the darts marathon, and every dart thrown will be for her. Thank you all for helping us honour her and for supporting Macmillan and families like ours.

Status Update

I just wanted to share a quick update and say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. I’m honestly blown away that we’ve raised over £1,000 — the generosity, kindness, and support has been overwhelming.

I’d like to say a particular thank you to people I may not know personally, including aunties’ work colleagues and long-distance family members we don’t get to see often. Your kindness truly means so much to us, and this feels like the best way to make sure you know how grateful we are. Every donation, message, and word of encouragement gives us even more motivation to keep going with the darts marathon for Macmillan.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart
George (Gman)

Status Update

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. We are genuinely overwhelmed by the love, kindness, and support we’ve received. Every donation means more than we can say, not just to us, but in helping Macmillan continue the incredible work they do for families like ours.

To put this into perspective, £258 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for one day to care for someone in need. Your support truly means the world to us.

Many thanks,
George
